The Old Man and the Sea… reflections
The old man has been alone for awhile now. He is always talking to himself. I think he is trying to convince himself that he is not in any pain, or that he is lonely. Maybe he thinks that he isn’t going to catch the fish so he is talking to himself that he is going to catch the fish like when he says:
“I’ll lash the two oars together across the stern and that will slow him in the night, he said . He’s good for the night and so am I.”
I really wonder how much he misses the boy. What about the boy? Does the boy miss the old man? The old man thinks very complex. He knows a lot about the world, and definitel a lot about fishing.
